Nepal’s biggest festival: fifteen days honouring the goddess Durga, ending with blessings from elders.

Dashain (Bada Dashain) runs for fifteen days in the bright half of the lunar month of Ashwin/Kartik, from Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Purnima. Its most important days are Fulpati, Maha Ashtami, Maha Navami and Vijaya Dashami.
