Ghatasthapana घटस्थापना

The first day of Dashain, when a sacred vessel is installed and jamara is sown.

Ghatasthapana means “installing the vessel”. A kalash (sacred vessel) filled with holy water is placed in a prayer room, and barley seeds are sown in sand and soil around it.
