Ubhauli उभौली

Kirat spring festival marking the upward migration and the start of the farming season.

Ubhauli (“upward”) is celebrated by the Kirat communities — including Rai, Limbu, Yakkha and Sunuwar — on the full moon of Baisakh. It marks the time when people and birds traditionally moved to higher ground, and the start of planting.
